Our History in Motion
1959
Company Founded
The story of our company began in the post-war period, when the young Frieder Volk carried out agricultural work on a contract basis and purchased his first tractor.
The business developed quickly, and a second tractor soon followed, allowing the company to take on transport work for agriculture and the construction industry.
1962
First Truck and New Transport Contracts
The company caught the attention of Deutsche Bundesbahn, Germany’s national railway, which commissioned Frieder Volk to carry out transport services on its behalf.
The capacity of two tractors was no longer sufficient, so the company ordered its first truck.
The loads included oxygen cylinders as well as an increasing number of knitting machines from the local textile machinery industry.
1965
Innovation in Knitting Machine Transport
While delivering oxygen cylinders to Tübingen, Frieder Volk came across a discarded pallet truck. He saw an opportunity to use the equipment to transport knitting machines – an idea that marked a major turning point for the company.
Using the pallet truck significantly simplified the transport process. What had previously been a labor-intensive and time-consuming operation became more efficient and less disruptive to ongoing production.
1970s
Expanding Knitting Machine Transport
Through practical experience and continuous development, Frieder Volk designed specialised transport equipment specifically for the efficient handling and movement of knitting machines.
In 1974, the fleet was expanded with additional trucks.
1980s/1990s
Entering New Industries
Over the years, the company’s focus gradually shifted from knitting machines to machinery transport for a wide range of industries across Europe.
Specialised vehicles were continuously developed and adapted to meet increasingly demanding technical requirements.
2008
Expansion of the Company Premises
In 2008, the existing company premises were expanded, creating additional capacity to support the growing business.
A new truck parking area for the specialised vehicles was also added, helping to optimise internal operations.
2015
Construction of a New Warehouse
The construction of a new warehouse expanded the company’s logistics capacity.
With around 800 m² of storage space, machinery of various sizes can be stored safely and flexibly for both short- and long-term periods.
